Ed Craft is a firm started in 1994 by Rajika Dhiren and Sheela Ramakrishnan, educationalists with the vision of making learning a meaningful and enjoyable experience. It grew out of a belief that multi-sensorial materials and experiential learning are an integral part of the learning process for all children and that text books alone do not serve the purpose. Activity Based Learning and Learning for Life from Life, form the corner stones of our work. We take pride in the fact that our materials are completely indigenous and eco friendly where ever possible. Our team of qualified and dedicated professionals back us for our consultancy projects and support our efforts to innovate and reach the unreached.
Our effort, experience and success in catering to the needs of children in mainstream schools, made us realize very early in time, that Edcraft had a significant role to play in meeting Inclusive Education requirements. Under the CWSN (Children With Special Needs) program we have extensively provided materials to resource rooms across the country.
Ed Craft is the only firm in the country to have been associated with the National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to co-develop, manufacture and distribute designs specially researched and field tested by them. Ed Craft played a very significant role in building awareness and influencing policy change with the Govt. The highlight of our effort was the dedication of our material to the nation by the former Hon’ble President, Shri APJ Kalam in December 2005. It was a historic moment, as assistive material for children with special needs was officially recognized for the 1st time in our country. We continue to be empanelled by Institutes under the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry to supply materials under the Assistive Devices Implementation Program.
Our vision is to be a one-stop global destination for customized educational needs.
